Sometimes you conquer the mountain, and sometimes the
mountain conquers you...  My kick starter arm and the associated stud has 74 years of wear...  I was trying to get the worn kick starter stub out of the frame, because they sell oversize reproductions to take up the wear.

Overzealous pounding broke the frame casting circumferentially about an inch below where the seat tube enters the casting...

Several years ago, I suffered a broken frame tube on my HD 45", and Richard Wascher at WASCO in Tacoma did an awesome repair.  I am stripping the bike down to the bare frame, and will see what WASCO can do with it.

ghost of Chieftain future?

Pretty cool - saw this late '48 Indian Chief up in Snohomish, in the original sea foam blue color that my '48 was originally painted.  Stroked to 84 c.i.d. with T&O flywheels.  For sale at $25,000.

Hope mine looks this nice some day.

Check out the Cycle World article on the first "new" Crocker motorcycle.  12 years in the making.  Takes my breath away!
